Our interest in art and labyrinths...

Both of us have always had an interest in art from our youngest years. Dr. Penny’s interest in art as a child included teaching summer art classes to other neighborhood children, visiting Cranbrook in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, and attending summer art school. Color and printing, which are her main passions, resulted in her working in printing management for many years as an expert in color quality control. Dr. Bill’s artwork also started early in his childhood as he would create imagery out of squiggly designs fellow students would provide. In high school and college, he designed a line of first day covers, Bill Ressl Cachets. Learning how to run offset presses from his father, he designed and printed over 100 first day covers which were sold nationwide - and still held by many collectors. Today he uses a trusty laptop and pen tablet to create his artwork. In the late 1980s and through the 1990s Bill and Penny learned the family craft of wicker weaving. Together they founded the Penny and Bill Company and created, wove, and sold wicker home accessories, baby bassinets, and other artistic wicker designs. In 2002 Dr. Penny and Dr. Bill designed their first custom labyrinth. It was a 15 foot diameter one time use paper labyrinth designed to encourage self-discovery of God’s call for one’s life. Today, each mindful coloring book we design includes a story with paths to color and custom labyrinths that take you through a four-step journey toward Resilient Re-Invention. The four steps, usually divided by chapter titles, offer you the chance to explore Hope-Finding, Dream-Making, Confident Experimentation, and Life-Rebuilding.
